On October 26, Deputy Prosecutor General David Melkonyan has received the Delegation of General Secretariat of the EU headed by the Director General of the Council of Europe for Political Consultations Alexander Gessel.

Both sides has stressed the need to adopt a new draft of the Criminal Procedure Code, which will provide an opportunity of equal participation for the parties in the process of proving.

During the meeting, statistical data on the effectiveness of the Prosecutor's Office in certain spheres have also been presented.

The meeting has been attended by the Head of the EU office in Yerevan Natalia Vutova and the permanent representative of Armenia in the Council of Europe Paruyr Hovhannisyan. Other issues of mutual interest has also been discussed.
