The RA Prosecutor General Artur Davtyan made a speech at the event devoted to the Anti-Corruption Day. The Prosecutor General outlined that there has been registered serious progress in the fight against corruption.

Artur Davtyan mentioned that during the first 9 months of 2017, 87 criminal cases along with bills of indictment against 142 persons have been sent to court. These cases contained flagrant signs of corruption offenses. In comparison with the same period of 2016, 65 cases along with the bills of indictment against 128 persons have been sent to court.

“Cases connected with giving and receiving bribes, abuse of authority have increased in number which is connected with the strengthening of control of competent authorities” – said the Prosecutor General.
