The RA Prosecutor General Artur Davtyan instructed to initiate criminal proceedings against MP Manvel Grigoryan and file a petition to the court on the use of detention as a measure of restraint

On the agenda of the extraordinary meeting the RA National Assembly discussed the petitions of the RA Prosecutor General on giving the consent to criminal prosecution and deprivation of liberty of the MP of the RA NA Manvel Grigoryan. By closed secret ballot, the parliament has given its consent to two petitions.
The RA Prosecutor General Artur Davtyan instructed the body conducting the preliminary investigation to initiate criminal proceedings against Manvel Grigoryan, to involve him as accused in the framework of three criminal cases investigated by the RA Special Investigation Service, as well as submit a petition to the court of general jurisdiction of the first instance of Yerevan regarding the choice of detention as a measure of restraint against Manvel Grigoryan.
Note: Every person suspected in or charged with a criminal offense shall be presumed innocent unless proved guilty in the manner prescribed by the RA Criminal Procedure Code and unless the verdict comes into legal force.
