Summary data on written requests for information received by the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Armenia

During 2019 the RA Prosecutor General’s Office received 130 written requests for information, from which, in case of 126, the answers were given within 5 days, established by the RA Law “On Freedom of Information”, and in case of 4 within 30 days.

 

Answers to these 4 requests were given in compliance with the requirements of Point 3 of Part 7 of Art. 9 of the RA Law “On Freedom of Information”, that is, due to the need for additional work to provide the information specified in a written request, information was provided to the applicant within 30 days after receiving the request, about which as well as the reasons for the delay and final or approximate deadline for the provision of information the applicant was informed in a written form within 5 days after receiving a request.

 

The case of a complete rejection of the provision of information by the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Armenia within the framework of legal regulations of Art. 8 and Art. 11 of the RA Law “On Freedom of Information” was not registered for the indicated period. In separate cases, information was not provided on the part of the request that related to the confidentiality of the personal and family life of a person, data from the preliminary investigation, not subject to publication.

 

In the case of one part of the requests, when the RA Prosecutor's Office was not possessing the requested information and did not have relevant information or the provision of such information was not within jurisdiction of the Prosecutor's Office, within 5 days after receiving a written request the applicant was duly informed (in written form) about that as well as the possessor of that information.
