The working group of the RA Prosecutor General’s Office studied and summarized the results of cases of electoral offenses registered from February 10 to March 11, 2020 in the framework of the referendum on constitutional amendments.

 

Thus, during the indicated period, 19 messages on electoral offenses were received, including a call, a report from a police officer, and a publication.

 

Data on 6 of them were obtained on the basis of publications in the mass media, posts on social networks, which became available through the monitoring carried out within the framework of the working group of the RA Prosecutor General’s Office, 9 - as a result of letters submitted by citizens to the RA Prosecutor’s Office, 1 - a call received on the RA Prosecutor’s Office hotline, 2 - calls from citizens in the RA Police, 1 - reports presented by the RA Police officers.

 

9 of them were letters submitted by the same person, which were regarding the administrative offenses.

 

The other 10 cases contained abstract and general information. They were examined by a working group and, under the supervision of the prosecutors of the subdivisions of the Prosecutor’s Office were considered or are still under consideration.

 

In particular, in 8 of them the fact of the alleged offense has already been refuted, and on the basis of reports of police officers they were left without any consequences, and by 2 - verification actions are being carried out.

 

The working group of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Armenia, in cooperation with other law enforcement agencies, during the preparation and conduct of the referendum on constitutional amendments on 05.04.2020 continues prosecutorial supervision over the study of media publications on electoral offenses, letters by citizens, the legality of criminal procedure in case of sufficient grounds, and regarding the results of which information will be periodically provided.
