Under the procedural lead of the Department for Crimes against Public Security of the RA Prosecutor General's Office, as a result of large-scale operational-search measures, urgent investigative actions taken by the employees of the General Department of the RA Criminal Police and the General Department for Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee and their consistent work were found out cases of leadership of a group of criminal subculture by a person with the highest status in the criminal hierarchy - "thief in law" and people with the highest status in the criminal hierarchy - "criminal authority" and a citizen's appeal to a person with the highest status in the criminal hierarchy - "thief in law" to resolve dispute regarding a particular problem.

 

Criminal case initiated on 10.08.2020 in the General Department of the RA Criminal Police on the fact of the revealed crimes was sent to the General Department for Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee, where, as a result of the search carried out by the investigative group, a person with the highest status in the criminal hierarchy - "thief in law" and a member of the group headed by him were detained.

 

In the course of the investigation, it was found out that with a view to resolve the private dispute (return of the amount of debt from a person in a penitentiary institution), a citizen turned to a person with the highest status in the criminal hierarchy - "thief in law", and the latter to resolve this dispute by his illegal influence gave the appropriate instruction to a member of the criminal group headed by him. The member of the criminal group passed the instruction of the "thief in law" to the "criminal authority" of the penitentiary institution, who, in his turn, with the involvement of members of the criminal group headed by him, took upon himself the fulfillment of this assignment and took concrete actions for this.

 

The preliminary investigation by the criminal case continues, all necessary and proportionate actions are being taken to identify the entire circle of participants and people involved in the group.
