А civilian killed, two civilians injured in the result of aggression against Armenia, shelling Davit Bek community by the Armed forces of Azerbaijan

From July, 2020 up to date, the military-political leadership of the Republic of Azerbaijan, in violation of trilateral agreement entered into force on May 12, 1994, the UN charter, Geneva Convention on the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War,  as well as requirements of other conventions and relevant norms of customary international humanitarian law, on the grounds of national hatred by using prohibited means and methods of warfare, endangering the lives of many, deliberately killing two or more people, and deliberately destroying property by means of an explosion continue to unleash an aggressive war against the Republic of Armenia.

 

During that period the settlements and civilians of Armenia were targeted intentionally by the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan.

 

On 2 November 2020, at 18:10 o’clock the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan intensively shelled Davit Bek settlement of Kapan community of the Republic of Armenia with large caliber missiles, multiple rocket launcher systems and weapons forbidden by the international conventions,  the residents living there, civil infrastructures, in the result of which huge damages were caused, many residential houses were destroyed. It is worth mentioning that there are not any military objects in the mentioned settlement.

 

In the result of shelling two women living in Davit Bek received shrapnel wounds, and a resident of Kapan community Davit Hovhannisyan, patronymic Yuri (born in 1976) was killed.

 

The latter was doing his daily work, was in civil clothes and was driving his car.

 

A criminal case was initiated on the case at the Military Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Armenia according to Article 384, Part 2, Article 390, Part 1, Point 1, Part 3, Points 1 and 2 of the RA Criminal Code.
