The RA Prosecutor General Artur Davtyan discussed with the Military Prosecutor's Offices of Garrisons the investigations of criminal cases regarding the circumstances of the war

Within the framework of the working visit to Artsakh, the RA Prosecutor General Artur Davtan held a consultation with the participation of the RA Military Prosecutor Vahe Harutyunyan and the prosecutors of Military Prosecutor's Offices of the Garrison.
The results of the work of the Military Prosecutor's Offices of the Garrisons during 2020 and the priorities of the activities of 2021 were discussed.
Detailed reference was made to the criminal proceedings under the supervision of the prosecutors of the garrisons. The issues of protection of the rights of servicemen in the context of the post-war period, and cooperation with the leadership of military
units in this context have been the subject of comprehensive discussion.
By noting that 2020 was a difficult year for the criminal prosecution bodies serving in Artsakh, the RA Prosecutor General thanked employees of the Prosecutor’s Offices of Garrisons for conscientiously carrying out their duties with great dedication
during the war by endangering their lives.
The RA Prosecutor General instructed to pay special attention to the full, objective, comprehensive investigations of the criminal cases regarding the aggressive war unleashed by the Republic of Azerbaijan against the Republic of Armenia and the
Republic of Artsakh.
In particular, Artur Davtyan strongly stressed the need to investigate various episodes of hostilities presented by the relatives of servicemen, dead or missing people or prisoners of war, reports on the legitimacy of the actions of various officials, as well
as all the circumstances containing features of crime published on social media platforms and mass media.
He instructed to control the legality of the preliminary investigation of the mentioned criminal cases on a daily basis, and with a view to ensure the effectiveness of the investigations, to use all possible means of prosecutorial influence provided by law,
especially to issue instructions to carry out operative-search measures, submit reports and request and receive necessary information and documents from the competent bodies.
Other issues related to the activities of the garrisons were also discussed during the consultation.
