Central Electoral Commission has granted the motions submitted by the Prosecutor’s Office on A. CH., Candidate of the Deputy of an alliance participating in the Early Elections to the National Assembly

June 21, 2021

A criminal case was initiated on 18 June 2021 under Article 154.2, Part 4, Point 2 of the RA Criminal Code regarding A. CH., Candidate of the Deputy of an alliance participating in the early elections to the RA National Assembly using service dependence of the medical center employees, making them participate in early elections to the National Assembly, vote for the alliance he represented, not to vote for a particular party taking part in the elections.

The head of the medical center was arrested on the same day on suspicion of committing the above-mentioned criminal acts.

Taking into account that the latter is a Deputy candidate, the Senior Prosecutor of the RA General Prosecutor's Office, supervising the legality of the criminal case, submitted motions to prosecute him and give consent to his deprivation of liberty.

On 21 June Central Electoral Commission has granted both motions of the prosecutor.

Decisions of the RA Central Electoral Commission were sent to the body conducting proceedings to undertake necessary procedural actions.

Preliminary investigation on criminal case is underway.
