In the result of operative data received at the Department of the RA National Security Service of Ararat Region, it was found out that a group of citizens of Masis town of Ararat Region, reaching prior agreement, from 9 June, 2021 to 19 June, 2021 have offered, promised and handed 20.000 AMD bribe directly and through intermediaries to vote for an alliance participating in the early elections of the RA National Assembly foreseen on 20 June 2021.   

 

On this ground a criminal case was initiated under Article 154.2, Part 1, Part 4, Points 1 and 2, Article 154.9, Part 1 of the RA Criminal Code. In the scope of the preliminary investigation initiated at the Investigative Department of the National Security Service of the RA a person was arrested for reaching prior agreement with a group of people to give bribe to two or more people.

 

The second case of bribe was recorded in Noramarg village of Ararat Region. In particular, operative information was received at Masis Division of Police on giving bribe in the village Noramarg of Ararat Region in favor of the alliance taking part in the early elections of the RA National Assembly which is foreseen on 20 June 2021. According to the materials the resident of Noramarg village, with prior agreement with a group, allocated electoral bribe, in the form of money during their visits and meetings with residents in person in favor of the alliance, as well as some agreements were reached via phones.

 

Criminal cases were initiated under Article 154.2, Part 1 and Part 4, Point 2 of the RA Criminal Code in Masis Division of the RA Police and at the Prosecutor’s Office of Ararat Region.

 

During the preliminary investigation factual data were received that N. M. reached verbal agreement with V. H. to vote for the alliance taking part in the early elections of the RA National Assembly which is foreseen on 20 June 2021 and received 540.000 AMD, which was allocated to over 36 people as a bribe giving each of them 15.000 AMD. Enrollment of people who received bribe was conducted and given to V. H.

 

On June 19 V. H. was arrested but later the arrest was recognized not legal by the court.

 

2 people were involved for suspicion of giving bribe and 6 people for suspicion of receiving bribe. Signature undertaking not to leave the place of residence was chosen as a preventive means against 7 people.

 

The criminal case was passed from the RA Prosecutor’s General Office to the RA Special Investigative Service to continue the investigation.

 

In the frame of these two cases measures are undertaken to find out involvement of other people and to give legal assessments to their commitments.
