78 criminal cases were initiated regarding election crimes, criminal prosecution was initiated against 83 persons, 7 cases were sent to court

The Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Armenia continues to present the results of election crimes during the early elections to the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, and after the voting, as well as works carried out within the framework of criminal proceedings by law enforcement agencies under the control of the Prosecutor's Office regarding the fact of media publications, messages.
In particular, by the criminal procedural order, in order to prepare materials on the fact of messages sent to the bodies of preliminary investigation and inquiry, 78 criminal cases were initiated as of July 22, 2021.
From them:
33 were initiated on grounds of giving, receiving a bribe, while the significant part of which was committed in aggravating circumstances.
6 - forcing or obstructing voters to participate in the election campaign, including under aggravating circumstances.
6 - forcing the voter to announce the voting results in order to violate the secrecy of voting.
5 - threats of violence or use of violence
3 - attempts to vote more than once
3- falsification of voting or election results
2 - obstruction of the exercise of powers by persons participating in elections or the work of election commissions, as well as the exercise of the electoral right
1 - sales of fake ballots by a group of persons by prior consent
1 - obstructing the organization of a rally or material interest in order to refuse to participate in the rally
1 – regarding the fact of beating
1 - obstruction of professional activity
2 - committing theft on an especially large scale
1 - illegal acquisition or sale of official documents
11 - on the basis of property damage
83 people are charged within the framework of these criminal cases, from which, in particular:
33 are charged or suspected for giving pre-election bribes
38 - for receiving electoral bribes
3 - for violating the secrecy of voting and causing property damage
3 - for causing property damage
1 - for attempting to vote more than once
1 - for coercion to vote in favor of parties or participate in elections
1 - person for attempting to vote more than once
1 - for violence near the territory of the electoral center
1 - selling fake ballots
For committing electoral crimes within the framework of various criminal cases, charges were brought against 8 candidates for deputies from two parties and two blocs, in particular, 4 from the “I Have Honor” bloc, 2 from the “Armenia” bloc, one from the party “Prosperous Armenia” and one from the party “Verelk”. One of the candidates, whose arrest was declared illegal by a court decision, left the territory of the Republic of Armenia after his release and was put on the wanted list.
With regard to all 8 candidates, including 16 persons included as accused by criminal cases, detention was chosen as a measure of restraint, and bail was chosen as an alternative measure of restraint for 1 of these persons by a decision of the prosecutor.
In relation to 14 people, 7 criminal cases have already been transferred to court, 4 of which are regarding giving and receiving bribery (11 people, 2 of whom received electoral bribes, 9 regarding giving bribes, all of them are connected with the “I have Honor”), 1 case against 1 person (connected with the“ Armenia ”bloc) for forcing people to participate in elections, voting for a party or a bloc, 1 case against 1 person (connected with the“ Armenia ”bloc) for forcing people to participate in the electoral campaigns (connected with the “Armenia” bloc).
Preliminary investigation of other criminal cases continues, individual cases are investigated in a single proceeding.
