Damage of about 20 million AMD caused by illegal subsoil use in the territory of Otevan community has been recovered

A criminal case was initiated under Article 290, Part 1 of the RA Criminal Code at Talin Criminal Investigation Department under the judicial supervision of the Prosecutor's Office of Aragatsotn Region. It was revealed that the responsible representatives of "N" LTD company having the authority to make decisions, conducted geological study for the extraction of minerals in 6.8 ha land area of ​​the administrative territory of Otevan community of the region, on the basis of the subsoil contract.

 

The investigation showed that the latter violated several points of the contract of subsoil use of the geological study and the requirements of the RA Land Code. In particular, according to the mentioned contract instead of the 300 m3 experimental excavation work permitted by the geological study timeline, he demolished and removed a mountain mass in the site and in the area outside the site and has not carried out land reclamation of the exploited area until September 1, 2020. The land available for farm was degraded, and damage of 19.594.291 AMD was caused to the state.

 

Measures are being undertaken to fully clarify the circumstances of the land degradation by the activities carried out in violation of the illegal exploitation of the mine, subsoil use permit and contractual obligations, requirements of the legislation in order to assess the legality of the actions of the persons responsible for them.

 

In the result of the efforts made by the Prosecutor's Office of Aragatsotn Region of the RA, the above-mentioned damage caused to the state was fully recovered.
