6 criminal election violations in the local self-governance elections of the enlarged communities of Lori region: materials are being prepared

On December 5 local self-governance elections were held in several enlarged communities of Lori.

 

In the context of the mentioned elections, the law enforcement bodies registered 6 reports or alerts related to electoral or other election-related crimes, all of them were received from individuals, including the chairs of the Precinct Electoral Commissions and NGO representatives. They are related to the voting process.

 

In particular, out of the received reports and alarms:

 

4 refer to the attempt of double voting, one of which was registered in Tumanyan, 3 - in the local self-governance elections of Spitak enlarged communities,


1 - hindrance to implementation of the right to elect by tearing the ballot papers of the voters in one of the polling stations of Spitak enlarged community;


1 - breaching the confidentiality of ballot by taking a photo of the person voting in the elections in the enlarged community of Spitak.

 

On the instruction of the Prosecutor's Office of the Region, 5 out of 6 reports were sent to the investigation body, and 1 to the police for preparing materials in accordance with Articles 180-181 of the RA Criminal Procedure Code.

 

Prior to launching the voting, i. e. during the election campaign, no reports and alarms were received regarding the electoral crime related to the elections in the enlarged communities of the Lori Region of the Republic of Armenia.
