In 2020-2022 damage caused to the state and communities amounted to the sum of 467 billion drams, 51 billion drams of which were restored

By order of the RA Prosecutor General, the RA Prosecutor General's Office summed up the data on the cases investigated and being investigated in the RA preliminary investigation bodies, on the damage caused to the state and communities, as of March 31, 2022. The data is presented in ascending order.
In particular, from January 1, 2020 to March 31, 2022, in cases being in the proceedings of the competent authorities of the Republic of Armenia, most of which are related to corruption and economic crimes, the amount of damage to the state, according to preliminary data, is 455,070,473,327 drams, the damage caused to the communities is estimated at 12,190,436,780 drams.
As a result of the examination or other investigative and procedural actions appointed during the preliminary investigation, the damage for 233,857,381,815 drams has already been confirmed, of which 231,532,450,211 drams is damage caused to the state, and 2,324,931,604 drams - to communities.
During the same period, an amount of 51,006,354,399 drams was restored, of which 48,790,341,623 drams was damage caused to the state, 2,216,012,776 drams - to communities. In March 2022, an amount of $379,250 was recovered from the damage caused to the state.
During the preliminary investigation of the above-mentioned criminal cases, 84,644,700 drams, accounts of 5,838,598,990 drams, 119 units of movable property, 240 units of immovable property, and 45 land plots were seized. Property in the amount of 2,078,144,529 drams was also arrested.
For the first quarter of 2022, the amount recovered for the damage caused to the state and communities is 2.5 times the amount for the whole of 2021. At the same time, the amount of restored damage in just 3 months is already approaching the amount of damage restored in the period for 2020 and 2021.
If in 2021 the damage was restored in the amount of about 7 billion drams, and during 2020 - about 14.2 billion drams, then only in the first quarter of 2022, an amount of about 19 billion drams was restored.
