The advocate Zhirayr Gharagyozyan made a post in “Facebook’’ social network, stating. “A few minutes ago, the Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan City, presided by the Judge R. Marikyan, examining the motion brought by the Deputy Head of the Investigation Division of Serious Crimes of Yerevan Investigation Department of the RA Investigative Committee on extending the detention of Erik Aleksanyan and my defendant, decided to reject it”.

 

In the result of confusion or intention, news was spread in the mass media and social networks that the motion to extend the detention of the advocate E.A. was rejected, and therefore the advocate E. A. will be released.

 

The Prosecutor General’s Office finds it worth to mention that the post of the advocate refers to another rejection of the motion of criminal proceedings on another person. In the mentioned case E. A. was defendant, and that had nothing with the Decision of the Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan of 19 October 2022, according to which the motion of the National Security Service was granted and the detention against the advocate E. A. was applied as a precautionary measure for two months.
