A criminal prosecution was initiated against V.Gh., the former Head of Security of the Third President of the RA, his wife and the Director of “Yans” restaurant complex (belonging to them) on account of extortion of particularly large amounts by the supervising prosecutor’s decisions dated  14 and 16 of November.

 

The investigator charged the three defendants based on the initiated public criminal prosecution. The prohibition of absence was applied to them as a preventive measure.

 

The preliminary investigation on criminal proceeding No. 59103718 is ongoing. A number of actions are undertaken under the supervision of the prosecutor in order to find out the circumstances of the incident.

At the beginning of June 2017, S.K. was informed about S.A.'s failure to enter certain amounts received from customers into the cash register of the restaurant. He informed about this V.Gh. and his wife R.B. who decided to demand and receive a particularly large sum of money (40 million AMD) from the accountant with threats of violence.

 

As a result of the demand combined with threats of violence, S.A. was forced to pledge his gold jewelry, borrow money from relatives, sell the apartment and transfer the demanded 40 million AMD to them through his relatives.
