The Prosecutor General demanded effective and non-delay investigation in the ongoing proceedings in connection with the cases of violation of the law with state funds and subsidy programs

On 3 December, the Prosecutor General Anna Vardapetyan had a working visit to Shirak Region. Anna Vardapetyan had a meeting at the Prosecutor’s Office of Shirak region, situated at Gyumri community, which was attended by the Marzpet of Shirak Region, Armen Chichoyan, the newly appointed Prosecutor of the Region, the regional heads of the law enforcement bodies, as well as the prosecutors of the prosecutor’s office of the region and the Prosecutor of Shirak Garrison Military Prosecutor’s Office.  

 

The Prosecutor General, before starting substantive discussions, congratulated Armen Chichoyan for the appointment as a Prosecutor of the region and expressed confidence that the professional and human qualities of the newly-appointed prosecutor will make it possible to organize the relations with the representatives of the partner law-enforcement bodies easily and effectively, being very meticulous regarding the cases investigated more than eight months, to suggest solutions for them in short terms emphasizing that there are human destinies behind the proceedings and the delays and non-actions by the law-enforcement institutions may cause irreversible consequences.

 

Marzpet Nazeli Baghdasaryan welcomed the Prosecutor General’s visit to Shirak Region, gave importance to the appointment of the newly appointed prosecutor of the region and expressed confidence that Armen Chichoyan will contribute to the strengthening of legitimacy in Shirak.

 

Regional Prosecutor Chichoyan thanked the Prosecutor General Vardapetyan for trusting him and noted that they will do their best to resolve proceedings, which are particularly problematic and are investigated with delays, in a short period.

 

During the meeting, the RA Prosecutor General referred to the areas and parks not considered to alienated, which are under the control of specific persons in violation of the law. They are needed to be returned to the citizens effectively using the tools for the protection of state interests, increasing the efficiency of partnership between law enforcement institutions, and also demanded meticulous, uncompromising, effective and non-delay investigation in the ongoing proceedings in connection with the works carried out in violation of the law with state budget funds and subsidy programs, emphasizing in that context that the expenditures made from taxpayers' funds, including subsidy programs, should be targeted and effective.

 

The Prosecutor General gave instructions on all the issues discussed and set deadlines for their implementation.
