Contractual serviceman, senior sergeant of N military unit of the RA MD got acquainted with an employee of foreign special services through Odnoklassniki social media and afterwards the latter was in touch with the abovementioned representative of the special services of Azerbaijan from January 2022 until June 2022 through Whatsapp application.    

 

By the preliminary examination carried out in the Investigative Department of the National Security Service factual data were obtained on the fact, that during that period the contractual serviceman received   remuneration from the employees of the foreign special services and provided information constituting state, official secret  as well as other information of military nature. 

 

During the same period, the abovementioned contractual serviceman collected and transferred information constituting a state secret to the employees of the special services of Azerbaijan through the Internet during 2022.

   

The supervising prosecutor rendered a decision on initiating a public criminal prosecution against the contractual servicemen under part 1 of article 299 of the RA Criminal Code. Charges were brought against him. Detention was chosen as a measure of restraint pursuant to the decision of the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan. 

 

Preliminary examination under the criminal proceedings has been completed and on December 22, 2022, the indictment was approved based on the decision of the supervising prosecutor and the materials of the criminal proceedings were submitted to the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Tavush region.
