Anna Vardapetyan, Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia chaired the extended board session held on 10 March, during which the results of the work of Prosecutor’s office during 2022 were summarized. 

 

Anna Vardapetyan, Prosecutor General thanked the prosecutors at the beginning of the board session for the work, devotion and diligence, highlighting that the activity of the prosecution system is visible to the public due to that work. The Prosecutor’s Office undertook the role of locomotive in the context of the new Criminal Procedure Code, defined a new pace of the examination of cases. We shouldn’t slow down the course of this movement”, highlighted Anna Vardapetyan and thanked the family of prosecutors for understanding the importance of the work.

 

Afterwards, Deputies of the Prosecutor General (according to their sectors) presented the general situation, dynamics, issues and recommended solutions of crime in the Republic during the previous year. 

At the end of the extended board session the oath taking ceremony of Anahit Manasyan, Deputy of the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia and prosecutors holding the position of the prosecutor for the first time took place.

 

Pursuant to the order of the Prosecutor General, Anahit Manasyan was awarded the Class Rank of First Class Counsellor of Justice (Pursuant to Part 1 of Article 46 of the RA Law “On the Prosecutor’s office” upon the appointment to a position the initial class rank corresponding to that position defined by Article 45 shall be awarded to the prosecutor).

 

 Anna Vardapetyan, Prosecutor General of the Republic congratulated the prosecutors assuming the positions and said, “It will not be easy, but I promise that it will be interesting”. Anna Vardapetyan expressed hope that later, summarizing their joint work, they will record  that they have done more than the half of what they planned, leaving their trace and points of irreversibility in a positive sense.
