Anna Vardapetyan, the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia and her Deputies Gevorg Baghdasaryan and Srbuhi Galyan, in the framework of the events of 105th anniversary of the Prosecutor's Office, continued the series of meetings with the students of the Faculty of Law of Yerevan State University and answered their questions.
During the meetings held in the Prosecutor General's Office, the students talked with the Prosecutor General and Deputy prosecutors about the qualities necessary for becoming a professional prosecutor free from verious impacts, the objective and subjective reasons of delaying the proceedings, the qualities necessary for pursuing a charge at the court by the prosecutor, several regulations of the new Criminal Procedure Code, the procedure of confiscation of property of illicit origin and other issues.
Anna Vardapetyan answered Luiza Lokyan's question on the ways of refraining from impacts on judges and prosecutors, by quoting the words of Aristotle, Greek philosopher: “The law is reason free from passion.” This is the best formula. The application of the law should be free from emotions. The prosecutor should make a decision based on the facts, and the facts are stubborn”, highlighted the Prosecutor General of the Republic.
Srbuhi Galyan and Gevorg Baghdasaryan, Deputies of the Prosecutors General referred to the works, achievements and challenges carried out in the areas under their coordination.
In the scope of the visit to the Prosecutor General's Office, the students also visited the Museum of History of Prosecutor's Office, got acquainted with its history and development.
