Today Anna Vardapetyan, Prosecutor General of the RA accepted James Applegate, Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs, US State Department.

 

Anna Vardapetyan touched upon the positive level of collaboration with the US colleagues, the continuous discussions over the needs of the Prosecutor’s Office and the perspectives of expanding the cooperation.

 

In this context Anna Vardapetyan emphasized the support of the US colleagues in the development process of the professional skills of Armenian Prosecutors and the importance of trainings in the field of money laundering, illegal drug trafficking, combating of cyber-crimes and corruption, as well as cooperation in the direction of improving the institution for confiscation of property of illegal origin.

 

The Prosecutor General also emphasized the necessity of going on with the discussions over signing a bilateral agreement on extradition between Armenia and the US.

 

Mr. James Applegate expressed his gratitude for the meeting and submitting the Prosecutor’s Office priorities, as well as had a discussion in a number of issues with Mrs. Vardapetyan.
