Anna Vardapetyan, Prosecutor General delivered a speech during XXVI International economic forum in Saint Petersburg on June 16 during which she talked about the mechanisms of effective protection of investors’ rights for the purpose of ensuring a favorable business and investment environment.

 

 During the forum Anna Vardapetyan presented legal guarantees for the protection of foreign investments in Armenia as well as the works directed at the simplification of procedural requirements for business and investment sectors and implementation of reforms.

 

According to the RA Prosecutor General the effective practical application of protection mechanisms, including protection measures of the criminal legislation, is very important for ensuring favorable business and investment environment. “The Prosecutor's Office and other law enforcement agencies play an important role in this very issue. The Prosecutor’s office of Armenia guarantees the protection of public and private interest from the encroachment and corruption in the scope of its constitutional and legislative powers, thus contributing to the formation of opportunities for lawful and free entrepreneurial activity and increase of the investment attractiveness of Armenia”, stated Anna Vardapetyan.

 

Referring to the works carried out by the Prosecutor’s Office directed at the recovering the property damage caused to the state and the communities due to the crimes trespassing the economic interests of the public the RA Prosecutor General presented the legislative reforms as a result whereof the Prosecutor’s office of Armenia may not only file a claim with regard to protection of the state interest, but also the power of protection of the community interest.  

 

At the end of her speech Anna Vardapetyan highlighted the necessity of introducing effective mechanisms for protection of conscientious entrepreneurs’ rights and reassured that the solution to that problem is prioritized both for state administration bodies and for the Prosecutor’s office.
