The Prosecutor General discussed the ways of cooperation with the Executive Director of Europol

Anna Vardapetyan, Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia met with the delegation led by Catherine De Bolle, Executive Director of European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Cooperation (Europol). Sébastien Moras, Chief of Staff for the Executive Director of Europol and Ilya Pulov, Senior Advisor of Staff for the Executive Director of Europol were also part of the delegation. Tigran Balayan, Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the Kingdom of the Netherlands also participated in the meeting.

 

Welcoming the guests the Prosecutor General highly appreciated the cooperation of RA law enforcement authorities with Europol. In this context she attached importance to the working arrangement between the Republic of Armenia and Europol on September 28, 2021 related to the information exchange between the EU member countries and RA Law enforcement authorities.

 

Catherine De Bolle, Executive Director of Europol thanked for the meeting and expressed her willingness to strengthen the cooperation in certain directions.

 

During the meeting Anna Vardapetyan represented the role of the Prosecutor’s Office in the field of international-legal cooperation as well as the priorities of the Prosecutor’s Office and welcomed joint efforts of strengthening cooperation hoping that they will contribute to the effective fight against crimes, particularly in the context of money laundering, confiscation of illicit property as well as detection of war crimes.

 

During the meeting the parties discussed other issues of mutual interest.
