Based on the Prosecutor General Anna Vardapetyan’s decisions dated April 28 and June 26, 2023, disciplinary proceedings were initiated against 2 prosecutors, holding autonomous positions at the Division for Supervision of the Activities of the Prosecutor’s Offices of Military Garrisons of the Central Military Prosecutor’s Office and Prosecutor’s Office of Avan and Nor Nork Administrative Districts.

 

In the course of the disciplinary proceedings, it was discovered that the prosecutors under the case had performed their official duties improperly.

 

Particularly, in violation of the requirements of the RA Criminal Code effective from July 1, 2022, for the first time the defendants were sentenced to imprisonment for commission of not а grave crime.

 

The results of the disciplinary proceedings were sent to the Ethics Commission under the RA Prosecutor General on July 19 and July 20, 2023.

 

By the decisions of July 20, 2023, the Ethics Commission confirmed the existence of disciplinary violations and the guilt of two above-mentioned prosecutors. 

 

According to the orders of the Prosecutor General dated July 21, 2023, a disciplinary penalty "reprimand" was imposed on the prosecutors.
