In 2024, 38,058 criminal proceedings were concluded (in 2023 — 33,396), including 11,801 cases sent to court with an indictment concerning 13,179 individuals (in 2023 — 8,393 proceedings for 10,115 individuals), 45 proceedings sent to court with a motion for compulsory medical measures (in 2023 — 55), and 26,212 proceedings were closed (in 2023 — 24,948), of which 17,813 were closed based on the grounds specified in point 1 of part 1 of Article 13 of the Criminal Procedure Code (in 2023 — 18,309).

 

Thus, according to the report of the Prosecutor's Office for 2024, in 2024, 4662 more criminal proceedings were concluded, which is a 14% increase compared to 2023, including 3408 more criminal proceedings sent to court with an indictment, a 40.6% increase, and 1264 more criminal proceedings were terminated, which is a 5.1% increase.

 

In 2024, 42.1% of concluded criminal proceedings (in 2023 – 39.9%) were examined within 2 months, 21.5% (in 2023 – 20.7%) within 4 months, 15% (in 2023 – 15.9%) within 6 months, 11.9% (in 2023 – 16%) within 1 year, and 9.5% (in 2023 – 7.5%) after more than 1 year.
