RA Prosecutor General Received The Co-Rapporteurs Of The PACE Monitoring Committee For Armenia

RA Prosecutor General Artur Davtyan received the Co-Rapporteurs of the PACE Monitoring Committee for Armenia Alan Meale and Guiseppe Galati.
After greeting the guests the RA Prosecutor General mentioned the already formed cooperation in various formats between the RA Prosecutor General’s Office and different bodies of the Council of Europe underlining the importance of the efforts of the rapporteurs aimed at the implementation of reforms in our country.
In the context of judicial and legal reforms the RA Prosecutor General mentioned a number of legislative initiatives that are at the stage of development and improvement, in particular, the RA Criminal Procedure Code and the RA Criminal Code and the RA draft law "On Prosecutor's Office".
The PACE rapporteur on monitoring Alan Meale underlining the primary role of the RA Prosecutor General’s Office in the implementation of reforms in the judicial system also mentioned the importance of actions aimed at raising public awareness.
During the meeting issues, concerning the judicial reforms and the role of the Prosecutor’s Office in them were discussed. A number of issues were mentioned, relating to the fight against corruption and the involvement of NGOs in them, as well as issues of mutual interest.
