The Deputy Prosecutor of Tavush applied to the Head of the RA Road Police for safe traffic

The Prosecutor’s Office of Tavush Region has studied the cases and circumstances of traffic violations made in the region during the period from 1 November 2020 to 1 March 2021, as well as mentioned the problems and the mechanisms of fight in this field.
It was found out, that in the mentioned period 260 road accidents were recorded, out of which in 48 cases 84 people have received different body injuries. In the result of 6 road accidents 6 people died. Cases mainly were because of violation of speeding and outstripping rules.
Data show that number of cases of driving cars with dark windshields, equipped with special sound signals and without numbers have increased.
The number of cases of breaking traffic rules intentionally increased in Ijevan and Dilijan towns. The cases of making turns from forbidden places, entering a closed street, parking on forbidden places near the central squares, making passes, entering the opposite lane have increased.
The Prosecutor’s Office of Tavush recorded that driving under the influence of alcohol and the probability of accidents is higher in Dilijan, because there are many entertainment and restaurant complexes in this tourist town.
In order to correct the shortcomings of the Road Police of Tavush, to exclude and remove contributing factors, Gor Aloyan, the Acting Prosecutor of Tavush Region sent a petition to the Head of the RA Road Police Service.
It was stressed that in order to eliminate and reduce accidents, it was necessary to distribute reforms properly and strengthen control in the evening, especially in places where accidents occur more frequently. It was stressed that the absence of strict administrative measures against the perpetrators of violations was unacceptable.
From the point of view of road safety, it was considered important to take measures to show a more responsible attitude by the officers of the Road Police in order to prevent crimes and administrative offences.
