The Prosecutor General Anna Vardapetyan touched on the causes of delays of the preliminary examination of the criminal proceedings examined more than eight months

Today Anna Vardapetyan, the Prosecutor General of the Republic, invited consultation, in which Deputies Artur Poghosyan and Gevorg Baghdasaryan, the Prosecutor of Yerevan City, Lilit Grigoryan and the heads of the departments of the RA Prosecutor General’s Office participated.

 

At the result of the research in the RA Prosecutor General’s Office it was turned out that as of January 1, 2023, 3307 cases out of the examined criminal proceedings are examined more than eight months in the departments of the Investigative Committee.

 

During the consultation, the Prosecutor General of the RA recommended to discuss the process of all criminal cases examined more than eight months in the pre-trial proceedings and the causes of delays and the examination terms in the relevant department, in the format of operative consultation.

 

Anna Vardapetyan recommended the deputies coordinating the sphere to list the criminal proceedings examined more than eight months (both controlling and supervisory), analyze the causes of delays, define the terms of their enforcement and report about the results to the Prosecutor General.
