The prosecutor initiated a public criminal prosecution against H.B. the former Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the RA Armed Forces: ban on absence was chosen as a measure of restraint

H.B. holding the position of Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the RA Armed Forces from January 26, 2009 until December 5, 2017, afterwards holding the position of the Deputy Head of the Joint Staff of CSTO from March 22, 2018 until December 31, 2020, hid the data related his property and income in the declarations of 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020.

 

Particularly, in the declaration submitted on March 1, 2021, H.B. stated that a car make “MERCEDES-BENZ S500” was registered under his name as well as the salary in the amount of RUB 2 940 000 he received as a remuneration for the work carried out in the CSTO. However, a car make “VAZ 21011” was registered in the name of H.B., besides that, during 2020, before the day of termination of his official powers, the bank account of H.B. was replenished by about 196 330 475 and the salary received from the CSTO was not included in it.

 

On March 6, 2023, under the decision of the prosecutor a public criminal prosecution was initiated against H.B., under part 2 of article 444 of the RA Criminal Code.

 

Combined alternative measures of restraint were used against H.B, including ban on absence.
