The RA Prosecutor General Artur Davtyan participated in the Meeting of the Coordination Council of Prosecutors General of the CIS Member States in Nur Sultan

The 31st meeting of the Coordination Council of Prosecutors General of the CIS member states was held in Nur Sultan, the capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the RA Prosecutor General Artur Davtyan participated in that meeting.
In the scope of the meeting the experience of Prosecutors' Offices of the member states was discussed in the fight against corruption, ecological security and protection of civil rights, protection of information containing bank secrecy, prosecutorial supervision over criminal proceedings, international terrorism, digitization of criminal cases, introduction of modern technologies in Prosecutor’s Offices as well problems of efficiency of the implemented processes.
The state of crime, the state of investigative and prosecutorial activities in the territory of CIS, the practice of implementing international agreements in the fight against crime in the member states were analyzed. Decisions were made on crimes by means of modern technologies, terrorism, other manifestations of extremism, corruption, other crimes, as well as the implementation of the Coordination Council's action plan.
Artur Davtyan, the RA Prosecutor General, made a speech on the topic of protection and use of banking information within the framework of criminal proceedings, speaking about the reforms made in the RA judiciary, as well as at the legislative level, initiated by the RA Prosecutor's Office, aimed at balancing private and public interests.
According to the RA General Prosecutor the reforms are connected with the fact that the former regulations often made impossible to detect crimes of money laundering, financing of terrorism, illicit enrichment, corruption and banking operations. According to Artur Davtyan the reforms were made with the provision of bank secrecy and necessary guaranties in order not to violate the normal work of the bank system, as well as the rights and legal interests of business and people.
“The RA Prosecutor’s Office is consistent regarding the reforms of legal practice and criminal procedures connected with bank secrecy, and we are ready to share our experience in the context of overall fight against crime” concluded his speech the RA Prosecutor General.
