A criminal case has been initiated  in the prosecutor's office of the RA Syunik region on the fact of illegal hunting of wild/ bezoar/ goat in the biosphere complex Zangezur.

 

According to the report, on January 25, 2018, a letter was sent to the Police from Syunik territorial department of Nature Protection and Nature Conservation Inspectorate of the Ministry of Nature Protection of Armenia, which was accompanied by documents according to which on January 24, 2018 employees of the biosphere complex "Zangezur" in the course of the service found an illegally shot bezoar goat registered in the Red Book in the area adjacent to the village of Ajabaj, and hunting for which is prohibited.

 

According to the calculations, the damage caused to the fauna as a result of illegal hunting for the bezoar goat amounted to 3.000.000 AMD, which is considered to be a large  damage in accordance with p. 3, Art. 292 of the RA Criminal Code.

 

In the prosecutor's office of the Syunik region a decision has been made to initiate a criminal case on the fact envisaged in p. 1 and 3 of Part 1 Art. 294 of the RA Criminal Code.

 

The preliminary investigation has been entrusted to the regional department of the RA Investigation Committee of Syunik region.
