The RA Prosecutor General has discussed the issues of counteraction of crime with the Commander of Defense Army of the Republic Artsakh and garrison prosecutors

The RA Prosecutor General Arthur Davtyan, who paid a working visit to the Republic of Artsakh, held a meeting with the prosecutors of the garrisons located in Artsakh today, which was attended by Jalal Harutyunyan, the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Artsakh, Commander of Defense Army and by Vahe Harutyunyan, the Military Prosecutor of the Republic of Armenia.
During the meeting, they have discussed the operative state of crime in the Defense Army of the Republic of Artsakh, the disclosure of crimes, the effectiveness of the prosecutorial supervision over the legality of the preliminary investigation related with military cases.
During the visit to Artsakh the RA Prosecutor General Arthur Davtyan underlined especially the process of the implementation of the agreements reached on mutual activities with the Commanding staff of the Defense Army, units, commanders of military units and representatives of military law enforcement bodies in order to prevent serious crimes, suicides, violations of disciplinary rules.
Despite the positive outcomes of the actions undertaken in these directions in recent months, the RA Prosecutor General noted that it is necessary to continue the planned work in the military units under the military prosecutor's offices of the garrisons. Arthur Davtyan emphasized especially the importance of excluding the elements of the criminal subculture in the Armed Forces, strengthening the control over strict observance of the code relations between the military personnel, officers and troops as a potential criminal factor, excluding the differentiated approaches among military officers in military units.
The Prosecutor General instructed the prosecutors of the garrisons to pay constant attention to the military units in full compliance with the security rules paying unexpected visits to the military units and to actively use the measures of prosecutorial supervision aimed at abolishing the causes and origins of the crimes.
During the meeting, besides the issue of strengthening the discipline of the commanding staff in military units, importance was attached to the discipline during the duty on the front line, recording of criminal acts in the armed forces as well as the interest of commanding staff for disclosure of these acts. The above-mentioned main steps are aimed at deepening the cooperation between the Prosecutor's Office and the Defense Army for improving legal skills.
An agreement was reached with the commander of the Defense Army of the Republic of Artsakh to make the organization of such meetings more frequent and more inclusive.
