During the meeting with the Board members of the RA Prosecutor's Office, Artur Davtyan appointed Armen Afandyan to the post of the RA Deputy Prosecutor General

Being guided by Part 1 and Part 3 of Art. 36 of the RA Law ‘’On the Prosecutor's Office’’ during the meeting with the Board members of the RA Prosecutor's Office, the RA Prosecutor General Artur Davtyan proposed for the post of the RA Deputy Prosecutor General the candidacy of the Head of the Department for Crimes Against Property of the RA Prosecutor General’s Office - Armen Afandyan, which was approved by the members of the Board.

 

By the order of the RA Prosecutor General dated 13.07.2020 Armen Afandyan is appointed the RA Deputy  Prosecutor General.

 

During the board meeting, RA Prosecutor General Artur Davtyan thanked Armen Harutyunyan, for his conscientious and productive work and great contribution to the work of the system.

 

Armen Afandyan was born in Yerevan on May 5, 1976.

 

In 1997graduated from Faculty of Law of YSU.

 

From 1997-1998 - Service in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia.

 

From 2000 to 2007 worked at the RA Police as an Investigator of Erebuni Investigative Division, then as a Senior Investigator of Kentron Investigative Division.

 

From 2007 he works in the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Armenia. He held the post of  the Investigator of the Prosecutor’s Office of Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts, then the Prosecutor of the mentioned Prosecutor’s Office, and later the post of the Senior Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office.

 

From 2008 to 2012 he was the Deputy Prosecutor of Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts.

 

In 2012 he was appointed Deputy Head of the Department for Crimes Against Property and Economic Crimes of the RA Prosecutor General's Office, and in 2013 was appointed Senior Prosecutor of the Department for Investigation of Especially Important Cases of the Prosecutor General's Office of the RA, and then the Prosecutor of Syunik region.

 

From 2016 to 2019 was the Prosecutor of Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts.

 

On 26.09.2019 was appointed the Head of the Department for Crimes Against Property of the Prosecutor General's Office of the RA.

 

From 1999 to 2001 – Lecturer at the University of Foreign Economic Relations.

 

Winner of the All-Union Championship of the USSR and RA in wrestling.

 

Married, has a daughter and two sons.
