Scientific and methodological council was established adjunct to the RA Prosecutor General

By the order of the RA Prosecutor General, a new scientific and methodological council was established adjunct to the RA Prosecutor General.

 

The latter has the status of an advisory body adjunct to the RA Prosecutor General and the purpose of the council is to provide scientific and methodological assistance to the subdivisions of the RA Prosecutor's Office while exercising their functions, to cooperate with similar councils of higher educational institutions, academic centers and law enforcement agencies operating in the RA.

 

This initiative of Artur Davtyan is largely due to the imperative to constantly improve the activities of the prosecutor's office on the basis of more scientifically grounded international experience, taking into account the trends recorded in the dynamics of crime.

 

In addition to that, the significant intensification of the work of the prosecutor's office in recent years in the field of state interest’s protection, the process of confiscation of property of illicit origin, creates new approaches in the work of the prosecutor's office, the need to introduce directions and use a broader scientific potential for this purpose.

 

The main tasks of the scientific and methodological council are the development of scientifically grounded consulting materials on problematic issues of law enforcement practice in the areas of prosecutorial activities, proposals on areas and methods of combating crime, analysis of the development of the case law of the ECHR.

 

By the specified order of the RA Prosecutor General, in the scientific and methodological council are included:

 

The Council will be headed by the former Deputy Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia, Associate Professor of the Chair of Criminal Procedure and Criminalistics of YSU, Candidate of Legal Sciences David Melkonyan.

 

Associate Professor of the Chair of Criminal Law of YSU, Doctor of Law Anna Margaryan.

 

Associate Professor of the Chair of Civil Law of YSU, Candidate of Legal Sciences Tatevik Davtyan.

 

Lecturer-coordinator of the Student Legal Advice Center of Faculty of Law of YSU, Candidate of Legal Sciences Tigran Markosyan.

 

Assistant to the Chair of Civil Procedure of YSU, Candidate of Legal Sciences Tirair Vardazaryan .

 

Head of the Department for Combating Corruption Crimes of the RA Prosecutor General’s Office Artur Chakhoyan.

 

Head of the Department for Crimes against Public Security of the RA Prosecutor General’s Office Karen Bisharyan.

 

Head of the Department of Organization, Supervision and Legal Assistance of the RA Prosecutor General’s Office  Armen Marukhyan.

 

Head of the Department of State Interests Protection of the RA Prosecutor General’s Office  Vahe Rafayelyan.

 

Former RA Deputy Prosecutor General, Advisor to the RA Prosecutor General Armen Harutyunyan.

 

Head of the Division for Organization of Scientific Research and Methodological Work of the RA Academy of Justice Petik Mkrtchyan.

 

The decisions of the council will be of a recommendatory nature, they can be applied by orders of the RA Prosecutor General.
