Second Syrian mercenary of terrorist group involved in the hostilities of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan against the Republic of Artsakh was detained

The military-political leadership of the Republic of Azerbaijan, by ignoring numerous international conventions and treaties related to the fight against terrorism, violating ceasefire agreements, continued to use mercenaries from various terrorist groups in the aggressive war unleashed against the Republic of Artsakh. The latter were involved in the acts of terrorism against the population of Artsakh, killing of people, destruction of buildings, structures, roads, means of communication, or other property.

 

These actions were accompanied by targeting a number of settlements of the Republic of Artsakh and the Republic of Armenia by means of grenade launchers, missile and artillery complex and unmanned aerial vehicles by the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan.

 

During the hostilities in the Republic of Artsakh, by the soldiers of the Defense Army of the Republic of Artsakh on 01.11.2020 was found out Youssef El Abed Al Haji / born in 1988, a resident of the village Ziyadia, citizen of the Syrian Arab Republic/ a mercenary of “Hamdan” Group – directly involved  in the above mentioned acts,  who was transferred from the terrorist camp located in the north of Syria to the Republic of Azerbaijan by Turkey.

 

Within the framework of the criminal case initiated regarding the cases of unleashing an aggressive war, in violation of the requirements of a number of international treaties by the military-political leadership of the Republic of Azerbaijan, use of prohibited methods of warfare as well as systematic, deliberate, purposeful infliction of human and property losses on 02.11.2020 the latter was detained on suspicion of committing crimes under Art. 389,  Point 1 of Part 1 of Art. 390, Point 1 and Point 1 of Part 3 of Art. 390 and Part 3 of Art. 395 of the RA Criminal Code.

The investigation is still in process.

 

One civilian killed, two wounded in missile attack on Davit Bek community as a result of aggression against the RA by the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan

 

The military-political leadership of the Republic of Azerbaijan, in violation of requirements of trilateral agreement /entered into force on May 12, 1994/, the UN Charter, the Geneva Convention on the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War, and other conventions, as well as the relevant norms of customary international humanitarian law, continues to wage an aggressive war against the RA on the grounds of national hatred by using prohibited means and methods of warfare, endangering the lives of many, deliberately killing two or more people, and deliberately destroying property by means of an explosion.

 

Within that framework, the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan continue to deliberately target settlements and civilians in the territory of the Republic of Armenia.

 

On November 2, 2020, at around 18:10, the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan with large-caliber missile and artillery complex, reactive volley-fire systems, and weapons prohibited by international conventions again launched intensive strikes on the settlement of Davit Bek /Kapan community of the Republic of Armenia/, residents, civilians, and infrastructures of the community. As a result of which many residential houses were destroyed and damaged. It should be emphasized that no military facility is located in the mentioned settlement.

 

 As a result of the missile and artillery attack two women living in Davit Bek settlement received shrapnel wounds, and Davit Hovhannisyan (born in 1976), a resident of Kapan community, died.

 

The latter was busy with his daily affairs, was in civilian clothes, and driving his car.

 

Regarding the mentioned fact in the RA Military Prosecutor's Office a criminal case was initiated under Part 2 of Art. 384,  Point 1 of Part 1 of Art. 390, Point 1 and Point 2 of Part 3 of Art. 390 of the RA Criminal Code.
