On 11.11.2020 a criminal case was initiated on the fact of throwing a smoke grenade on the same day at the direction of the protesters of the rally in front of the RA National Assembly. A resident of Yerevan A.O. (born in 1965) was detained on the same day on the basis of suspicion of committing the indicated act.

Under the consistent prosecutor's supervision, by the combination of sufficient evidence obtained during the preliminary investigation carried out by the Investigative Division of Arabkir of the IDY of the RA IC, it was substantiated that A.O. on November 11, within 20:00, by drinking alcohol and watching on TV that there was a rally in front of the RA National Assembly, he left the apartment and took a smoke grenade from the trunk of the car, then took a taxi and headed to the RA NA (Yerevan, Baghramyan19).

Deliberately violating public order, showing disrespect toward the people, he threw the smoke grenade in the direction of the people gathered there. As a result, smoke was released and due to these deliberate actions, there was a commotion at the place of the meeting.

On 26.11.2020 the Prosecutor's Office of Arabkir and Kanaker-Zeytun administrative districts of Yerevan received an indictment of the criminal case, which was approved by the prosecutor exercising control over the legality of the preliminary investigation and for consideration of the case on the merits, the criminal case was sent to the Court of General Jurisdiction of First Instance in Yerevan.
