The RA Prosecutor's Office and the CSO Anti-Corruption Coalition of Armenia by a memorandum signed on 09.12.2017 in the context of preventing corruption, reducing corruption risks and increasing the effectiveness of combating corruption, cooperate through information exchange, working discussions in the areas of increasing public participation, promoting the implementation of anti-corruption reforms, ensuring the protection of the rights and interests of physical and legal entities, as well as anti-corruption education.

 

Considering the criminal-legal fight against corruption, the key role and importance of the RA Prosecutor's Office in the framework of this cooperation, the Prosecutor's Office received an invitation to participate in the Youth Against Corruption program (which is part of the CSO Anti-Corruption Coalition) organized by the Armenian Bar Association. The aim of the latter is to promote the role and participation of youth in the fight against corruption. More than 120 students from all regions of the Republic of Armenia receive anti-corruption education at the anti-corruption school for young leaders formed within the framework of the program.

 

Within the framework of this program, in November, the participants of the anti-corruption club online meetings were held with the Deputy Prosecutor of Lori Region V. Dolmazyan, Senior Prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office of Syunik Region G. Abelyan, and the Senior Prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office of Shirak Region A. Mnoyan.

 

Prosecutors presented the role and functions of the Prosecutor's Office in the criminal-legal fight against corruption, as well as priorities.

 

The prosecutors touched upon the activity of the electronic platform for the whistle-blowing system in the RA, as well as the functions of the anti-corruption committee. They stressed the importance of the participation of all, especially of youth, in the fight against corruption from the point of view of increasing the effectiveness of cooperation.

 

The participants of the anti-corruption school on the online platform met with the Senior Prosecutor of the Department for Confiscation of Property of Illicit Origin of the RA Prosecutor General's Office A. Sargsyan. A. Sargsyan presented the features of the process of confiscation of property of illicit origin from the point of view of the effectiveness of the fight against corruption, restoration of violated state rights. The prosecutor also presented the functions of the Department for Confiscation of Property of Illicit Origin of the Prosecutor's Office.

 

The RA Prosecutor's Office is consistent regarding the issue of deepening the cooperation with the representatives of civil society, in the context of which such events will be continuous.
