In order to organize the process of confiscation of property of illegal origin in the shortest possible time in accordance with the law and to ensure their unimpeded implementation, in accordance with the instruction of the RA Prosecutor General, given in August 2010, by the Divisions of the Prosecutor's Office were singled out criminal cases, within the framework of which might have been arisen suspicions on the presence of property illegal origin.

The materials of all the singled out cases were sent to the Department for Confiscation of Property of Illicit Origin of the RA Prosecutor General 's Office.

From September 3, 2020, thus, from the moment of the establishment of the responsible subdivision in the RA Prosecutor General's Office until November 15, about 200 materials on 405 subjects, possibly having property of illegal origin, were received by the Department for Confiscation of Property of Illicit Origin. Based on the results of verification of the existence of grounds for initiating an investigation, a decision was made to initiate investigations in relation to property belonging to 206 of them, which are in the process.

Within the framework of each initiated study, a comprehensive, detailed, result-oriented analysis is being carried out aimed at the most effective application of the mechanisms of the Law on the Confiscation of Property of Illicit Origin.

It should be reminded that the selection of prosecutors of the Department for Confiscation of Property of Illicit Origin of the RA Prosecutor General's Office was carried out through an open competition, as a result of which five winners of the specialization program of the RA Academy of Justice were appointed to the positions of prosecutors of the department. Currently, the RA Academy of Justice is preparing three more candidates for the position of prosecutors, to fill the remaining vacancies.

With a view to efficiently carry out the management of work, economists were also involved. After the establishment of the responsible subdivision, an open competition was announced and held to select the latter, as a result of which 4 economists were recognized as winners.

Within the framework of the initiated process the entire legal framework will be used to obtain data on property of illegal origin, to remove it from economic circulation, to return it to the legal owner - the state, to restore violated state rights exclusively through legal procedures and tools.
