4 criminal cases were sent to the court with indictment against 14 persons on the facts of the riots committed on the night of November 10

Under the conditions of the war unleashed on 27.09.2020 by the Republic of Azerbaijan against the Republic of Armenia and the Artsakh Republic and in connection with this martial law in the Republic of Armenia and the Artsakh Republic, after the

dissemination in mass media of a statement regarding the agreement reached between the Republic of Armenia, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Azerbaijan in different territories of the Republic of Armenia, in particular , in the buildings of the

government of the RA and the National Assembly, as well as in other public places, riots were organized and carried out, public calls were made for the violent overthrow of the constitutional order, as well as cases of theft of other people's property and

documents.

 

In this regard, on 10.11.2020 in the Investigative Department of the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia a criminal case was initiated under Part 1, Part 2 and Part 4 of Art. 225, Art. 301, Part 1 of Art. 301.1, Point 1.1 of Part 3 of Art.

176, Part 1 of Art. 324 of the RA Criminal Code.

 

By the combination of sufficient evidence obtained in the course of the preliminary investigation a number of people were involved as an accused. 

 

During the riots regarding the destruction of property, calls for the use of violence against persons, theft of other people's property and documents, 4 criminal cases were separated against 14 persons and the preliminary investigation of these cases

was completed.

 

The prosecutors supervising the legality of the preliminary investigation confirmed the indictments of these cases, and on December 29 criminal cases against 14 persons were sent to the Court of General Jurisdiction of First Instance of Yerevan for

consideration on the merits.

 

Notice: Every person suspected in or charged with a criminal offense shall be presumed innocent unless proved guilty in the manner prescribed by the RA Criminal Procedure Code and unless the verdict comes into legal force.
