The Prosecutor's Office of Armavir region summed up the indicators of crimes committed in the region for 2020 and the results of the activities of the prosecutor's office of the region.

 

The study showed that in Armavir region in 2020 general crimes were increased by 30 cases or 1.8%. Compared to 1677 cases in 2019 in 2020 - 1707 cases were registered.

 

Cases of crimes of medium gravity were decreased by 10, grave crimes by 14, and especially grave crimes compared to 2019 were increased by 12. Cases of murder were increased by 5.

 

Crimes against property in Armavir region compared to 2019 were decreased by 5.3% or 39 cases. It is noteworthy that last year no case of theft was registered in the region.

 

Compared with 2019 burglaries have decreased significantly by 34.6%, and this was facilitated by the measures taken by the Police and bodies of self-government to prevent this type of crime. At the same time, the rate of burglary detection was also increased significantly reaching to 49.5%. With a view to improve the results, the Prosecutor's Office sent 10 petitions to the mayors of Metsamor, Armavir and Ejmiatsin regarding the installation of surveillance cameras.

 

Summing up of the results shows that 67 cases of illegal arms trafficking were registered /in 2019 - 66 cases /, 103 - violations of the rules of road traffic.

 

In the territory of the region, the indicator of detection of corruption crimes has been improved. In particular, if the detection of cases of giving and receiving bribes in comparison with 2019 has been increased by 10.9%, the cases of abuse of power by 16.2%. During the year, the law enforcement agencies of the region initiated 28 corruption-related criminal cases, out of 74 criminal cases considered in proceedings, 24 proceedings were completed, from which 6 against 15 persons were sent to court with an indictment.

 

With a view to eliminate the causes and conditions conducive to crimes, to ensure the integrity of measures aimed at detecting crimes, to eliminate the identified deficiencies, to draw up a comprehensive program of measures aimed at improving the state of crime, the prosecutor's office of the region sent 48 messages or petitions to state bodies, which is compared to 2019 is by 30% more.

 

Тhe total damage caused by crimes according to the completed criminal cases and  materials prepared in 2020 amounted to 86.5 million AMD, from the indicated amount, 79 million AMD - to communities, and the rest to the state. In the course of the preliminary investigation were recovered 7.362.000 AMD.
