With a view to verify grounds for the study regarding the presence of property of illegal origin during 2020, 201 criminal cases against 430 people were received in the Department for Confiscation of Property of Illicit Origin of the RA Prosecutor General's Office, and during 2021, 18 criminal cases, 1 verdict and 3 materials based on the data revealed on the basis of the results of operational-search measures.  

 

As a result of verifying the grounds for initiating a study on the basis of these materials during 2020, 214 decisions were rendered regarding the initiation of the study, and in 2021 - 26 decisions.

 

Numerous actions were taken within the framework of the studies. In particular, about 2100 requests were sent to state and public organizations, physical and legal entities and 2000 responses were received. With a view to establish other necessary circumstances within the framework stipulated by the law, 91 instructions were given to carry out operational-search measures and 60 replies were received.

 

Within the framework of 7 studies, requests for international legal assistance were sent, by 4 of which was received a response letter. 4 requests were received from the competent authorities of foreign states regarding property located on the territory of the RA, as a result of the implementation of the necessary actions within the framework of which the Department sent responses to the competent authorities of the requesting states.

 

With a view to obtain data constituting a banking, insurance or commercial secret, 21 applications were submitted to the Court of General Jurisdiction of the First Instance of Yerevan city. Up to now the court has rendered 18 decisions, from which by 12 the provision of bank secrecy has been fully satisfied, and by 6 - partially.

 

With a view to determine the market value of the property of illegal origin detected in the course of the study, 11 examinations were appointed, regarding 3 of which a  conclusion was received from an expert institution.

 

By the Department for Confiscation of Property of Illicit Origin of the RA Prosecutor General's Office 6 applications were submitted to the court on the application of measures of preliminary security for the claim. In particular, the court has already satisfied 4 applications regarding 3 studies.

 

Within the framework of 3 studies, relevant interested parties were invited to get acquainted with the materials collected on the basis of the study and presenting their position on the data obtained.
