8 people were sued for fraudulently stealing large amounts of money from the parents of killed, missing or captured servicemen

2020 After the publication of the tripartite declaration of the cease-fire of the Artsakh war signed on November 10, many cases of fraudulently stealing large sums of money from the parents and relatives of soldiers who went missing, died, and were captured during the war were recorded.

 

In particular, different people have connected to the parents, relatives died, missed, captured in Azerbaijan, saying that they are high ranking military officials or having contacts with the National Security Service. The parents trusting them believed and transferred large amounts of money.

 

In some cases they managed to receive the money they demanded, but in most cases they were not able to finish their criminal intention, because they were found and arrested by the law enforcement bodies of the Republic of Armenia.

 

12 criminal cases were initiated under Article 178, Part 2, Point 2 of the RA Criminal Code or under the same article, Part 2, Points 2 and 5, Article 34-178 of the Ra Criminal Code. 9 people were charged under the same article and detention was chosen against 8 people and 1 person - undertaking not to leave his/her place of residence.

 

8 criminal cases against 8 people were sent with indictments to the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction and the court examination is ongoing.
