Investigation of military crimes and deaths recorded in non-combat conditions are in the focus of attention of the Prosecutor General. Anna Vardapetyan held a meeting in Syunik

Anna Vardapetyan, the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia held a meeting at the Prosecutor’s Office of Syunik Region, in Kapan, where the Marzpet of Syunik Robert Ghukasyan, the heads of the law-enforcement bodies of the region, the prosecutor of the region and the Prosecutors of the Prosecutor’s Office, as well as the Prosecutor of Goris Military Garrison participated in the meeting.
Greeting the attendees, the Prosecutor General noted that being in Syunik on her first regional visit was not accidental. "One of the important borders of the country's defense is here. This is also the frontline of the criminal policy." said the Prosecutor General.
According to Anna Vardapetyan, the Prosecutor's Office of the Region is the primary link with the citizen. "I believe that our citizen will come to the Prosecutor's Office for the protection of his/her rights, he/she will come because he/she believes that here a proper legal assessment will be given to the actions of the person who violated his/her rights," underlined the Prosecutor General Vardapetyan and added that in this context, she attaches great importance to the observance of the terms of examination of criminal proceedings, because delays in criminal cases have a devastating effect on the economy of Armenia and the quality of life in the region.
Anna Vardapetyan pointed out that she will pay special importance to those criminal cases in the pre-trial proceedings more than eight months and assigned to define and submit to the Prosecutor General’s Office the timetable of the investigating proceedings. “I am not interested in the number of the cases, I am interested in the quality of the cases” mentioned the Prosecutor General and in this context gave importance to the efficiency of the investigation of criminal proceedings and stressed that she attaches great importance to the investigation of military crimes and the deaths recorded in non-combat conditions.
Anna Vardapetyan expressed her confidence that both human and professional qualities and the most important, patriotism, will make it possible to put aside the possible internal obstacles and work together for the sake of the rights and protection of state interests of the Republic of Armenia.
The Marzpet of the Syunik attached importance to the visit of the Prosecutor General in Syunik Region and the assistance in solving the urgent problems. Robert Ghukasyan also thanked the Prosecutor’s Office for the efforts for providing effective cooperation and stability.

During the meeting, among other issues, cases investigated more than eight months and issues related to the cooperation between law enforcement bodies were discussed in detail.
The Prosecutor General gave instructions in all discussed directions and set deadlines.
