April 21, 2023

Law enforcement bodies should change the investigation methods and tatctics of combating narcotic drugs turnover. Anna Vardapetyan, Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia emphasized this while presenting the report on the activities of the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Armenia in 2022 to the Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia.

“Recently I have sent a letter to my colleagues, asking them to develop an operational plan for combating the illegal drug turnover through combined actions within the framework of criminal proceedings and in a new format. The turnover of drugs has been modified. Drugs are colored pills that look "nice" and that's the worst. That is why we have a serious challenge among minors to explain that those "nice" pills are destructive",- said Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia by stressing the necessity of preventive activities in this direction.

“If in the past they knew exactly who was selling narcotic drugs, in which district and in what way, now it is an evil in the virtual domain, that requires completely different knowledge to discover. The illegal turnover of narcotic drugs is directly related to money  lundering,  therefore, investigation in the format of modern methodology is among our priorities”,- stressed the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia.
