By the decision of the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Ararat and Vayots Dzor regions, dated May 25, 2023, V.H., head of the pre-election headquarters of “With Honor” fraction was found guilty in giving bribe to the electors during the elections of the National Assembly of June 20, 2021.

 

By the decision of the supervising prosecutor, in the scope of the criminal proceedings initiated in the Special Investigative Services, charges were brought against V.H. head of the headquarters, N.M.  janitor of the headquarters and E.K. and I.A. residents of Noramarg community  under points 1 and 2 of part 4 of article 154.2 of the Criminal Code adopted on 18.04.2003.

 

The Prosecutor approved the indictment on V.H., N.M., E.K., I.A. on July 19, 2021 and submitted the case to the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Ararat and Vayots Dzor regions.

 

On May 25, 2023 by the decision of the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Ararat and Vayots Dzor regions the abovementioned persons were found guilty in the criminal actions incriminated to them. V.H. was sentenced to 4 years’ imprisonment and the detention as a measure of restraint was not changed until the judgment entered into legal force. N.M., E.K., I.A were sentenced to 4 years’ imprisonment. Through the application of Article 70 of the Criminal Code adopted on 18.04.2003 the Court decided not to apply the imprisonment as a measure of punishment, however they shall be deprived of the right to change their place of residence.

 

The election fraud (AMD 15 thousand, 14 thousand, 10 thousand, 60 thousand) detected during the preliminary examination shall be confiscated in favor of the Republic of Armenia pursuant to the decision of the court.

 

Notice:  A person charged with any crime shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty in the manner prescribed by the RA Criminal Procedure Code—by the judgment came into legal force.
