Тoday the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia Anna Vardapetyan received the Vice President of the European Union Agency for Criminal Justice /Eurojust/ Boštjan Škrlec, who had arrived in Armenia to participate in the event on the 105th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Armenia and the conference organized jointly with the Office of the Council of Europe.
Anna Vardapetyan expressed gratitude to the Eurojust colleague for visiting Armenia and emphasized that Armenia had always paid attention to the establishment and development of relations with various international institutions during the formation of its statehood. "Since March 2021, Armenia has been given the opportunity to consider the issue of joining Eurojust. Considering the fact that one of the main goals of the Agency is to provide systematic and effective support to the law enforcement agencies of Eurojust member countries in combating terrorism and serious transnational crimes, since 2022, Armenia has started negotiations with the EU on signing an agreement between Eurojust and Armenia on judicial cooperation in criminal issues" - emphasized the Prosecutor General of the RA, expressing confidence that after the agreement enters into force, international cooperation in criminal cases will develop even more.
