In the result of the preliminary investigation undertaken in the Investigation Department of the National Security Service in 15 November 2022, it has been turned out that the person occupying the position of the Head of Vedi Territorial Department of the Cadastre Committee under the Government of the RA (hereinafter referred to as “Committee”) jointly with other employees of the Committee used his official post for the benefit of personal and group interests in 2005-2010.

 

The mentioned official violated the order set by the relevant officials of the Ministry of Defense of the RA and sold the community land of special significance of the “Yeraskh 2” military unit in the Ararat region with an area of 0.9 ha and the buildings on it on 2 February 2009 for just 2 million 500 thousand AMD, registered it in the name of the buyer in the unified register of state registration of rights to the property of the Committee and issued a certificate of ownership. The Head of Vedi Territorial Department of the Committee did the same operation regarding the community land of special significance of the “Yeraskh 1” military unit in the Ararat region with an area of 1.2 ha and the building on it, and sold it for just 4 million AMD on 16 February 2009.

 

In both of the above-mentioned cases, the action of the said official negligently caused serious consequences.

 

On 28 December 2022 a public criminal prosecution was initiated against the Head of Vedi Regional Department of the Committee by the decision of the supervising prosecutor.

 

The decision was sent to the body conducting the proceedings to file a charge in accordance with Article 190 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the RA.
