On February 4 Deputy Prosecutor General Anahit Manasyan participated in the discussion about the draft law on “Prevention of violence within the family, protection of victims of violence within the family and restoration of peace in the family” and  the package of amendments in the associated laws organized by the support of the International Republican Institute.

 

Ara Mkrtchyan, Deputy Minister of Justice of the RA, Arsen Ayvazyan,  Deputy Head of the Investigative Committee, authors of the draft, Deputies Zaruhi Batoyan, Sona Ghazaryan and Tsovinar Vardanyan, the representatives of the MLSA, the Human Rights Defender’s Office and public organizations participated at the event.

 

Deputy Prosecutor General Manasyan highlighted the prevention of violation within   family, the protection of victims of violence within the family and the implementation of the state’s continuative steps in the direction of the restoration of peace.

 

In this context, Anahit Manasyan stated that the improvement of the referring legislation could play a big role in the sense of the development of mentioned sphere, also could be favorable for the law enforcement practice.  

 

Deputy Prosecutor General Manasyan also stressed that the Prosecutor’s Office was committed to support partners in the direction of the improvement of mentioned sphere in the framework of its authorities.
