Outcomes of the juvenile crime situation and fight against it have been summarized in Shirak Region

The criminal motivation of criminal offences with the participation of juvenile have been studied and summarized in the Prosecutor’s Office of Shirak Region in 2021. 20 cases with the participation of 31 juvenile were recorded in the territory of the Region related to beatings and thefts. The number of cases increased with 2 and the number of participants with 7 compared to the previous year.

 

The Prosecutors of the Prosecutor's Office of the Region visited a number of schools in Gyumri, Artik, Amasia and Akhuryan, where meetings were held with both teaching staff and high school students.

 

Moreover, representatives of non-governmental organizations specialized in the field, heads of other schools, lawyers, servicemen of different departments of the Shirak Regional Department of the RA Police, specialists of the Department of Education, Culture and Sports of the Shirak Marzpetaran took part in the meetings.

 

In order to prevent juvenile crime, the Prosecutors of Shirak Region sent 2 motions to the Marzpet of Shirak Region, analyzing the circumstances of juvenile crime, as well as proposing appropriate measures to show a more responsible attitude for the protection of the children's, women and  family rights, to ensure the proper implementation of crime prevention tasks among juvenile, to increase the level of cooperation between state and local government bodies.

 

To this purpose, 5 motions were sent to the head of the Shirak Regional Department of the RA Police, raising the issues of full implementation of preventive measures in the work of the Police in the fight against juvenile crime. A motion was also addressed to the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia to take effective measures to eliminate the causes of the specific case of the crime committed in the educational institutions.

 

Disciplinary measures against officials failing to fulfill their work in specific cases were undertaken against 5 persons.
