In accordance with the decision of the Court of General Jurisdiction of Gegharkunik region, detention has been chosen against G.A., the Head of the Rear and the Deputy Commander in Charge of the Rear and Utility Operation Service of a Military Unit of the Ministry of Defense of RA as a preventive measure for two months.

 

The Prosecutor General’s Office had informed that on January 25, 2023 a decision was made by the prosecutor supervising over the legality of pre-trial criminal proceedings to initiate a public criminal prosecution against G.A., the Head of the Rear and the Deputy Commander in Charge of the Rear and Utility Operation Service of the Military Unit of the Ministry of Defense of the RA in accordance with the Part 3 of Article 550 of the Criminal Code of the RA (military official negligence, which has entailed to the person’s death by carelessness).

  

G.A was detained on January 26, 2023.

 

Note: Every person charged with a criminal offense shall be presumed innocent unless proved guilty in the manner prescribed by the RA Criminal Procedure Code and unless the verdict comes into legal force.
